WIM Meeting at Rain for Rent October 2014

WIM had another great gathering for members at the Rain for Rent offices in Riverside on 10/9/14.  President Julia Lakes-Martinez lead the meeting and taught members how to make concrete from recycled materials. Many thanks to Michelle Gordon-Hunter and Matthew Stanton, Branch Manager for providing us with a wonderful meeting facility delicious food and most of all for answering our many questions about Rain for Rent.  Matthew was a wealth of knowledge and we were all very impressed with all that Rain for Rent provides.  Thanks again!Oct 2014 Meeting 1 Oct 2014 Meeting 2 Oct 2014 Meeting 3 Oct 2014 Meeting 4

September meeting with Cookie Mining

The California Chapter of WOMEN IN MINING held this month’s meeting at the Mojave Desert AQMD offices in Victorville.  We had a great meeting (wonderful food) and it was followed by an activity lesson “Chocolate Chip Cookie Mining” provided by Dinah Shumway.  It was designed to remind us and prepare us to be able to go into the classroom and teach a class of potentially future miners (even if they are only 12 years old).
